Every Kingdom has a language — a vocabulary shaped by its values, culture, and King
I’m bilingual; I speak two languages. I have a friend who’s fluent in eight… I’ll admit, I’m a little envious. What a gift! But there’s another language that I do speak and understand, and that is the language of the Kingdom. It’s not learned in classrooms but in surrender.
The language of God’s Kingdom isn’t made up of slogans or clichés; it carries divine DNA. Words like submit, obey, forgive, surrender, serve, and give form the heartbeat of a true disciple. Once radiant with beauty and power, these sacred words have too often been misunderstood by culture and misused by those who lead from fear instead of faith. Yet they still stand, holy, unchanging, and full of life for those who have ears to hear.
The Ten Words of the Kingdom
1. Submit – Yielding our will to God’s authority and timing.
2. Commit – Staying steadfast when emotion fades; keeping covenant.
3. Follow – Walking in the footsteps of Jesus, not ahead of Him.
4. Surrender – Letting go of control so God’s purpose can prevail.
5. Obey – Doing God’s will even when it costs comfort or pride.
6. Forgive – Releasing others to heal ourselves; mirroring mercy.
7. Serve – Finding greatness in humility and purpose in helping.
8. Give – Living generously because everything we have is entrusted to us.
9. Sow – Investing your life, love, and resources into God’s purposes; trusting Him for the harvest.
10. Deny Yourself – Dying to self so that Christ may fully live through you.
