In this lesson we will learn not only how to pray and minister to the sick, but also how to release the power of God through our hands into the sick person.

John G. Lake said, “The tangibility of the Spirit of God is the scientific secret of healing”

In speaking about the fullness of the Spirit, Smith Wigglesworth said that there are two aspects to the fullness of the Spirit: you possess the Spirit and the Spirit possesses you. John G. Lake said something similar, “Christianity is one hundred percent supernatural – God possessing man.” In order to operate in divine power you must be filled with the Spirit. You must possess the Spirit of God and He must possess you (Ephesians 5:18). God and man operate together in unity; He does not work independently of you.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. (Philippians 4:13)

The presence of God in your life is what will allow you to be used in the healing ministry of Jesus Christ. He is not only in heaven but He is in you. It is His power that flows through yielded vessels. Many Christians are waiting on God, but not in a biblical sense, because they are waiting in passivity. Instead of taking responsibility, Christians try to put the responsibility on God. The reason we minister to the sick believing for their healing is not merely because the Word says so, but because we are God-possessed, we are changed into His image, we have the marks of His nature, His compassion, His love, and His power. We want to see God touch people in their suffering. We are possessors, not only of a promise, but of the power of God.

You Cannot Give What You Do Not Have

Hand goes to the head… “Filled!” “More!” “Power!” “Healed!”

It sounds so simple, but attached to your hand is a body, soul, and spirit. In order for that hand to be a point of contact through which the power of God is released, you have to be in contact with heaven. You cannot give away what you do not have, but must have something from God to release it!

For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you. (1 Corinthians 11:23)

Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” (Acts 3:6)

In order to have an outflow of healing there must be an inflow of provision and ability. We see so few healings not only because of doubt and unbelief, but also because the ones ministering are empty.
