Through the study of God’s Word, we will now establish a foundation for absolute confidence that it is God’s will to heal. It is common to find people who pray to be healed, yet are not sure whether God will heal them.

Here are some ways that Christians approach divine healing:

  • “He may want me to ‘bear this cross,’ so therefore it is His will.”
  • “God is teaching me something in this time of sickness, so therefore it is His will.”
  • “If it be your will, God, you can heal me, but if not, you gave us doctors and they will do it.”
  • “I just hope and pray that I’ll be one of the lucky ones whom God will choose to heal.”
  • “Since healing is a ‘hit and miss’ affair, I had better keep taking my medication.”

This is not how we are to approach divine healing. It is not a shot in the dark, hit and miss kind of an affair. The Word of God is very clear on the issue. This lesson will give you a biblical basis of faith so that you can have confidence in your heart that God’s will is to heal you.

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. (Hebrews 13:8)

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. (James 1:17)

For I am the Lord, I do not change; therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob. (Malachi 3:6)

These verses prove the unchanging nature of God. He is not going to have a “bad hair day” or be tied up in a crisis in the Far East. If God healed in the past, He will still heal today. Jesus healed all that came to Him while He walked on the earth, and will still do the same today. God is no respecter of persons.

God remains, “I am the Lord your Healer.” He is not, “I was the Lord your Healer.”
