Relief

This is a critical hour in the lives of so many people in Africa – hunger, disease, war, and AIDS have left millions of orphaned children in need of immediate care. Unless someone gets involved and helps, millions will perish.

I have lived and worked in refugee camps and have seen first hand what a person undergoes while dying from hunger. This is a pathetic sight, and I cannot be inactive in the face of what I have seen. These are not just people in another country – they are someone’s father, mother, son, or daughter.

We who live in nations of abundance must not shut our hearts to those who have no way of helping themselves but must, with compassion and generosity, provide relief.

True Christian faith cannot be dormant but must reach out and do something tangible to make a difference.
