Ordination and Licensing

The following section outlines the process to apply for, obtain, and maintain your ordination as a licensed minister of the gospel with GMR.

The Process to Obtain Ordination with GMR

To apply for ordination as a licensed minister with GMR please complete the following online form.

  • Send or attach a head and shoulders photo in a pdf format.
  • The background color of the photo must be white (for your I.D. Card).
  • The application will be reviewed by the Board of Directors.

If the Board approves your application, GMR will contact you and arrange your Ordination or License Service. If the Board believes that your application is not acceptable and you are declined, you will be contacted by a member of the Board explaining the reasons and what will be required in order to reapply for your Ordination or License.

GMR will send you your Ordination or Licensed Minister Certificate and an I.D. Card verifying that you are an Ordained or Licensed Minister. Your Ordination or Licensed Minister status with GMR is valid for 2 years.

If there is a Biblical or legal reason to withdraw your Ordination or Licensing, a member of the Board will contact you where you will be offered the appeal process. The eventual ruling of the GMR Board of Directors is the final decision.

Example of Certificate of Ordination Requirements to Qualify for Ordination or Become a Licensed Minister with GMR

  • You will be required to give evidence to the reality of your calling and ministry as a leader in the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • Ordination or being Licensed does not necessarily qualify you for ministry but publically recognizes the existing reality of your proven ministry.
  • You will be required to provide three supportive letters of recommendation of your character and ministry from people around your life. Please supply the following three supportive letters:
    • A letter from your Pastor
    • A letter from a family member
    • A letter from a business associate or friend
  • The supportive letters should be mailed directly to GMR and be addressed to Dr. Leon van Rooyen.
  • You will be required to pay an initial Ordination or Licensed Minister Registration Fee of $100; (this $100 will also be your first year membership fee).
  • You will be required to maintain your Ordination as a Licensed Minister through an annual membership subscription fee of $100.
  • As an ordained minister with GMR you will be required to send a Quarterly Status Report about your ministry activities.
  • You will be invited to attend ongoing training from the Apostolic Leadership Team, the annual conference, and be accessible for input.
